Litay's Garden - Yaniv Edry

Litay’s garden is both an actual, tangible place and an ideal. It is where photographer Yaniv Edry documented model Litay Marcus, working the land surrounding her home in central Israel, over the course of more than a year (2022-2023). The Garden is also a universally cherished symbolic space, present throughout religious and literary texts, art history, and Jungian psychology. One of its most intriguing attributes is its non-conflicting duality – as a place at once wide open and entirely closed. Embodying such harmony of inside and out, it is no wonder The Garden is the place where Edry and Litay meet and collaborate. Both manage to play an active, creative and central part in their industry yet keep to themselves, engulfed in mystery, self-sufficiency, and elaborate inner-landscapes.
