The publication is based on the editor’s discussions with the architect, civil engineer, and artist Hans-Walter Müller, who has been developing forms of pneumatic architecture since the late 1960s. Müller has designed inflatable volumes for artists like Jean Dubuffet, Salvador Dalí, and Maurice Béjart and has himself had his permanent home in an air structure on an airfield south of Paris since 1973.
