Humans are not the only entities in the functioning office. Dracaena trees and Schefflerae populate offices and hallways in order to bring a little life between the stacks of files and the computer screens. That these are in fact living organisms is a reality all but ignored. Office plants are destined to stay, they can not quit their job, or walk away.more They have to “do or die” and often end up as mere things. Their right to sustenance – that little bit of water – is hardly taken seriously. In his series and book “German Business Plants” Frederik Busch show portraits of such plants in their operative states. The humorous approach that Busch has chosen allows us to change our perception, to see these plants as individuals, as fellow employees, who dream themselves out of this office, just like we do.
